I haven’t encountered this before, but as a temporary workaround you could try to download the asset from the website itself and manually put it inside the project.
If you navigate to the page of your desired asset, you should see something like this:
Clicking the Download button should show a window showing you the available files to download. Most assets can go in the Content/ directory of your project, but if it’s a plugin it can go in the Plugins/ directory instead.
I know it’s not a permanent solution, but hopefully it lets you continue working on your project for now!
