Hello everyone, I have just recently started using UE5 and already ran into a problem with the content manager.
After starting a new 3rd person project I decided to move (through the content browser) the starting folders into a single new folder I made. After moving the starting folders I did “Fix up redirectors in Folder” as explained in some tutorials and then tried to manually delete the folder, but it didnt work. I could only get around the problem going manually inside each sub folder and deleting them, until there is just one left, Characters > Mannequins > Rig
This empty sub folder just wont delete. Everytime I try to delete this empty folder it shows a huge list of assets (materials, 3D assets, textures, animations) that I noticed are already located in their new location… In completely confused why its not deleting and why is it so hard make a simple operation like moving assets to different locations
I restarted the project and once I did 3 files showed inside this folder, thats why it wouldnt delete. But the problem persisted, the files (that are related to 3rd person FK and animation I think) have been moved to the new folder but still remain in the old path, giving me errors if I try to delete them… at the end I manually deleted the folder in the Windows Explorer and it didnt break anything in the game, still its a weird situation because it makes me worried to move anything in the future. Doesnt appear to be simple neither safe, not a good start for me.
I’ve been having the same problem as well. I just began developing with ue5 as oppose to unity for my new project, and this problem really made me scared to move any default folder structures through the content manager.
Any updates on issues after deleting them through the explorer @TerraSanctum ??
