Can't connect to source control error

A bit of an Hail Mary, but recently I’ve been having this problem when trying to connect to Perforce with a “empty identifier not allowed” error.
Does anyone have had this issue before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Apparently when lunching P4V (before starting unreal) one has to switch to the current working space in order to setup the correct variable environment which unreal will then read and use, otherwise this will happen.

Hi,
I am having the same issue. My perforce setup for a project has worked for more than a year, and now I am experiencing the same.

Even if I enter the Workspace name, it cannot find it.

When I check the environment variable for perforce the port is set to another server. I am using perforce with several different servers. I was expecting that this switch occurs manually.

The trick you mentioned (switching the workspace before launching the engine) did not work for me.

Edit: This article describes what you need to do if you have to manage multiple connections, this helped me:
