Hi all!
I’m experiencing a bug where I download reality capture, I activate the PPI license from the software linking it to my Epic Games account but when I try to buy credits they just don’t add to my cart. Also, no license shows up in my “license” tab.
I’ve been trying to get in touch with Epic support directly but can’t seem to find a way hence I’m dropping this question here.
Hi MoreanMan,
with PPI there is no ordinary license, so it won’t be under license. You can see just your credits on the site. PPI means Pay Per Inputs and you need to buy credits for licensing your inputs if you want to export your results.
Where are you trying to buy the credits? In the application or here: my.buy - Sign in - Capturing Reality ? I can see under your account that you already bought and also used some of the credits yesterday.
I am having a similar issue… I’ve been using RealityCapture for quite some time now and I’ve always signed in with my Epic Games Account to access my PPI credits. For some reason this no longer works; Even though it says that I have been successfully signed-in in using Epic Games and I have a perfect internet connection, the RealityCapture activation doesn’t recognize it.
Here’s a screen capture of what is (or rather isn’t) going on:
My support request a couple of weeks ago has been left unanswered and I haven’t been able to use it ever since. I would prefer to stick with my Epic Games account since there a quite a few credits on it that I wish to use.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Where did you send a support request? I don’t see anything in the RealityCapture requests, and I don’t see any other interactions from you on this forum.
About the signing in I would recommend checking your connection and do this recommendations:
- Make sure that the default browser is set in the Windows settings.
- If you are using a VPN software, this could also cause communication problems.
- Make sure that the communication with capturingreality.com and www.capturingreality.com is enabled on ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS) in your firewall.
- Add *.capturingreality.com into the Trusted Sites zone in the Internet Options control panel.
- If you still have Internet Explorer installed, please navigate to Internet Explorer settings, and under its SECURITY tab you can find the TRUSTED SITES menu. Add https://www.capturingreality.com and https://capturingreality.com, and hit OK to apply.
- Open Windows Start and search for “Turn Windows features on or off” and make sure that Internet Explorer 11 feature is enabled.
- Reset all zones to default level as it is on this image (there you can see the option for adding trusted sites):
- Also please follow these instructions to make sure you can communicate with Epic’s servers.
Thank you for your reply! I filled out a support request on epic games, I don’t exactly remember where since I never got a reply on that. You’re right, that is my first interaction on this forum since I didn’t have any issues up to this point.
I’ve tried everything you mentioned and even switched networks in case that was another issue… nothing seems to work. I’m not using a VPN and all the ports are set up correctly.
The instructions you’ve mentioned in the end of your reply only apply to the epic games launcher, which runs perfectly on my device - so does unreal engine btw. Is there perhaps a similar way to edit a file similar to the Engine.ini file for RealityCapture?
The funny thing is, when I try to sign in with my epic games account at My - Sign in - Capturing Reality it just sends me back to www.capturingreality.com and I’m not logged in… so I’m also not able to log in there… So weird.
Hello! I’m having a similar issue. I cannot add the PPI credits to cart when I try to buy them from the website. I’m currently using google chrome.
Hi itanakaryu,
is this also happening using other browser? Is it possible to buy the credits directly from the application?
According to your account you were able to buy and use some credits already. Were you able to solve the issue?
