Can't activate Perpetual Floating License on RC 1.5.1 / 1.4

Hi,

I am struggling to activate our company’s Perpetual Floating License on RealityCapture (version 1.5.1 and 1.4 tested). We purchased this license before the business model change in April 2024 and want to ensure we are using it correctly and legally.

What I have tried:

  1. Created an Activation Token in the MyRealityCapture portal (set as Floating).

  2. Used the CLI command: RealityCapture.exe -activate [my_token] via a .bat file.

  3. Performed a clean install of both 1.4 and 1.5.1 standalone versions (not Epic Launcher versions).

  4. Signed out of all Epic accounts within the app.

Despite these steps, the “About” dialog still shows “Signed in as: No user”. Most importantly, the MyRealityCapture portal does not show any active sessions, even when the software is running.

There is no visual indication that the Enterprise/Perpetual license is being pulled from the server.

Question is How can I verify within the UI that the Floating License is actually active?

We want to comply with the license terms as a large company, but the current UI gives zero feedback on whether the activation was successful.

Hello @ElomaticCE

The old perpetual licenses can be used only up to RealityCapture 1.3.2 version. Since version 1.4 only Epic Games account or No user option is available.

As you purchased the license before, you should be able to download also the mentioned versions from your MY account and use those on your machines.

In UI, use the question mark About to see the activated license type (but this won’t be shown since 1.4 version, as there is different licensing).
