Cannot select anything else than InstancedFoliageActor

Hi everyone

As the title says, I cannot select anything else than InstancedFoliageActor anymore in the editor. Very rarely i’m able to click on some mesh. But 95% of the time, a foliage actor gets selected. Even if I’m managing to select or place an actor, the transform handles also cannot be selected.
I have a world with several floating islands at different heights. All of them contain landscapes with foliage actors. So, I have a lot of these actors. Depending on where I click, different foliage actors get selected. But very random ones.
Even inside blueprints, I cannot click on any actor in the blueprint - not just in the level. Only, just when trying to select anything in the level, I see clearly that the foliage is selected - a behaviour I dont see inside the blueprint.
Has anybody any idea? The game is like 75% finished. Starting over is no option.
Initial version was 5.2. After migrating to 5.3 the issue persists.

Hello,

Could you post a video so we can see what is going on? Unreal has WAY too many components to deduce from merely a paragraph of explanation.

Sure, here’s a video

You have REALTIME set as OFF. Can you reenable it? (Ctrl+R)

If I’m not mistaken, foliage isn’t handled in Realtime, which is (I imagine), why you can edit only it.

Hey there @nobodysproduction! If Leo’s recommendation doesn’t work out, could you try hiding the actor that gets selected and trying again? I’d like to test if it’s possibly a bounding issue in which maybe one of the foliage pieces are just stealing the click. Can you still select other actors in the outliner?
