Hey, so I’m trying to add a particle emitter and see how it looks in the viewport before I start my game, and I can’t see anything in the viewport. I’ve been flipping back and forth a million times like a crazy person.
In the video: https://www.loom.com/share/e2d12e132145472b8b4a7310feb7b961
I show how the viewport for my wizard is empty, but for other characters it works. I go back and forth from the game briefly to demonstrate how the selected blueprint is the playable character and is not empty.
Just click on a component in the component list in the character, the right click on the viewport just to move it about a little, then hit F to move to the component.
It’s a bit hard to describe, you only use the right mouse button in the viewport to move the camera around a bit, we’re not trying to get a context menu up or anything, just shift the focus back to the viewport but leave the component selected.
Then F takes you to the component - I think maybe you’ve somehow moved your viewport camera to a crazy place…
Thanks. I got it visible in the top / sides views, just not perspective. The F thing didn’t work for me in the perspective view, but it might work for others. I don’t know how to mark this as answered (I’m trying) but thank you for your help!
Ok, but if you can see something in the top view, can you click an item and then hit F, and then go to perspective?
I can select my mesh in top view. Hit F, centering it, and then go to perspective and nothing is there. That viewport doesn’t work for that blueprint for some reason.
Yes, I see it. I’ve read some stuff about this happening when you have a DestroyActor node somewhere in the BP.
