cannot remove paint on landscape

Hi all,
in landscape mode, it should be possible to remove painted layers by holding shift - but this does not work for me, it just continues to paint the layer instead of removing it. Does anyone have a solution for that?
Thank you!
Malte

As far as I can tell, some paint layers are additive, and some are subtractive. And some are on top of others. So here is how I try to work it out, (it is confusing every time so I need to experiment every time)

If there is a rock layer you want to erase, select that layer and try to erase it with the shift. If that doesn’t work try to erase it without the shift. If that still doesn’t work try covering it with the layer above it. both with and without the shift key, and keep going up the layers. eventually you will find the right combination. It always takes me a few experiments to figure it out. I’m sure there is some logic to it but I can’t wrap my head around it. But I think it has to do with some layers being additive, and some subtractive, or at least it seems that way.

I hope this helps.

I confused myself and find out need this setup, for UE5.5 make sure the two layers have weight blend enabled, in landscape layer No Weight Blend is unchecked
