Cannot pan editor viewport

I am on a iMac and MacBook using a mouse. RMB+drag zooms, but no mouse combination pans. I cannot find a post or any reference to this problem. Thanks.

It works… I was using mouse buttons + mouse movement rather than just swiping the mouse.
