So a few patches back you could import a new skeletal mesh with a few animations, then add more animations to that FBX using whatever 3D softer, when you could import the skeletal mesh again using the same skeleton and get the new animations in.
Then i updated to the lates version of Unreal Engine 4 and now everytime i try to import a FBX i already have it just says “Re import successfully” instead of asking me if i wanna use the same skeletal mesh to import overwrite everything and adding the new animations?
So how do i add new animations these days? do i need to remove everything and rebuild all animations blueprints and blendspaces just to add a new animations now?
There should just be a button to import new animations?
So there is a way i found. i exported the mesh from blender with a new name, and then when i tried to import the same FBX but with a different name i was allowed to get that import window back again.
I dont see this as “solving it” this is just a cheap work around? there must be a way to import animations. they cant expect us to make every single animations for every single character before we import them in to unreal engine…
