I’m attempting to import a model of a car that I rigged in c4d, and exported as an FBX.
However, Unreal Engine 5.1 (I need to use this version for this project) keeps freezing and eventually crashing during the importing process.
I am able to import my FBX as a static mesh, either a combined mesh or separate pieces. But as soon as I import a skeletal mesh + physical asset, the problem I described above occurs. I suspect this means that there is something wrong with how I rigged the model in C4D, but I can’t find any mistakes.

My objective is very simple: import a car model I purchased online, and animate it in Unreal. My ideal goal is to animate it using the chaos char system, which has very rich secondary animations.
How do I prepare the FBX file so that I can import it as a skeletal mesh, without causing unreal to freeze?
