Summary
I’m trying to export Megascans assets into 3ds Max 2027 and I’m stuck between two broken workflows:
- Quixel Bridge
Quixel Bridge no longer lets me download new assets directly — every asset now shows a “Get it on Fab” button instead of the usual Export/Download option. I understand new Megascans content has moved to Fab, but this means Bridge is essentially unusable for new assets now. - Fab in Launcher
When I try to install the 3ds Max plugin from Fab in Launcher, clicking “Install Plugin” does nothing — no confirmation, no error message.
I have 3ds Max 2027 installed, which isn’t in that supported version list — this seems to be why the plugin manager can’t detect a valid installation.
What I need to know:
Is 3ds Max 2027 support planned for the Fab plugin, and roughly when?
In the meantime, is there any supported way to export Megascans assets (with materials) into 3ds Max 2027 — official manual method, updated plugin build, or similar?
I’ve already tried a third-party GitHub tool (MaxBridge Assistant) to fix the old Bridge↔3ds Max connection, which did get the old Bridge plugin working again — but since Bridge no longer serves new assets, this doesn’t solve the actual problem.
Any guidance would be appreciated — right now this is blocking my whole texturing workflow.
