Noob Q:
On two different models I’ve imported, one allows me to import a texture into a Material, one doesn’t.
Both models come from the same supplier.
Why is one ok but another red?

It could be due to the fact that the textures are using different compression methods. Double click on the textures to view the compression method used. It could also be that they are not of the same object type. This has to be changed in the actor / blueprint variables panel, for the inputs.
I had the same problem. It turns out, that by the import Unreal Engine turn on virtual texture streaming. If you uncheck it in the texture editor. It should work again.

Worked! How do I disable it so that imported image doesn’t get converted to VT crap?
