I cannot connect Archicads datasmith direct link with Twinmotion 2022.2.3. In twinmotion import menu direct link finds the correct file, but the "import" button is greyed out. In Archicad (25 and 26 the same) Datasmiths "manage connections" window it reads "no connection found". A few days ago it just worked. I believe it stopped working with Twins latest update. I tried reinstalling datasmith, but it didnt help. What gives?
Hello ,
I'm not entirely sure I understand exactly what the issue looks like on your end. If you could provide some screenshots or a video of the issue, as well as the version of the Datasmith plugin you are using, that would be very helpful.
In the meantime, if any of the errors in the Datasmith Exporter Plugin Installer Common Errors article are rpesent, please try the appropriate troubleshooting steps from that article to fix the issue. If the error is not in that article, please submit a bug report here with the requested information so we can look into this further.
Best,
Raghib
see attached screenshot, showing the problem from both sides - no connection found in archicad, and greyed out "import" button in twinmotion. None of the errors you suggested take place. There is no error, just no connection... Datasmith version 5.0.3 v2, but I also tried Unreal 5.1 exporter, with the same result.
Hello, same issue here with Rhino 7 after the update to 2022.2.3. Any news?
I have submitted a bug report as Raghib sugested, but still no response... I suggest you submit yours too, put some pressure on the support team ;)
So I got an answer from support, and it worked for me :) Aparently all you need to do is delete Twinmotions config file (C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Twinmotion2022.2\Config). You loose your "recently opened" list, and any preference changes you made, but direct link works again :)
Well, this problem returned after the first use, but i solved it. This issue can be solved by simply unselecting and reselecting the "allow substitution" checkbox in import dialog box... It seems that deleting config file was just an OP way of reseting this checkbox.
Thanks for that screenshot and info. I can see the issue clearly on your end, but our attempts to try and reproduce this issue haven't been successful so far using the same versions of the plugin, Archicad, and Twinmotion.
Could you please submit a bug report here and share a copy of your Twinmotion.log file (Where to find Twinmotion .log file) so our support team can investigate this issue further?
Best,
Raghib
Thanks for sharing the solution. This fixed my problem too.
Best!
Hey! I'm having the same issue as you did, would you mind explaining where i can find 'import dialog box'?
you cansee it on the screenshots above, its the window that pops up whenever you are importing anything into TM.
it is February 2025 and I see that there is STILL no fix for importing site from maps? There is zero chance I would pay for this software when it does not even work properly. UNREAL…
