Cannot change Build Configurations

Trying to debug something that only happens in packaged builds so we want to do a DebugGame build (we assume that Print works in there).

But the build menu appears disabled apart from Shipping


I thought I had changed this in the past. We are using source control - is there some file I need to check out to enable these changes?

  • Which version of the engine are you on?
  • Did you receive your version of the engine from the Epic Games Launcher or through GitHub?
  • Does this happen on any project, or a specific project?

version 4.9.2 from the launcher - the project has been converted through many versions (starting we think with 4.6) in the past 6 months though.

I tested a different 4.9.2 project and I can see those options

I also tested the 4.9 shooter game template and I can see those options

So it seems to be project specific.

Other info that might help:
We do have some C++ in our project
We originally had the starter content included but have removed them

Are you able to change your build configuration within UnrealFrontEnd?
