Can you use niagara to create an equipment system?

I know how to spawn particles on a skeletal mesh, but can you have a niagara system that you give a list of meshes like swords and helmets for example and it spawns a specific mesh at a specific bone or socket on a character and they stay there ( keep their local relative orientation) without having to manually update them every tick? And would one single particle system be able to do this for many characters at the same time?
