Can you randomly change different plants sizes if they are in the same group/folder after them replaceing an object?. Also can you add quixel megascans plants to vegetation brush?

Hi All!,

I'm new to twin motion, Using version 2022.1.2 I had two questions and I was wondering if y'all could help me. I want to resize random plants but when I try to, I end up resizing all of them. I had the plants replace objects that I imported to TW from vector works. I imagine it's because of this I'm only able to change the size as a group and not individually.

My second question is, Is it possible to use the vegetation brush with quixel megascans as I can't seem to put them in the pallet.

Any help is appreciated!! Thank you!

Hello ,

Regarding your first question, you should be able to individually resize plants if the plants aren't instances of one another. If they are instances, then any change to the settings for one plant will apply to all of the instances. You can verify this in the scene graph, where all instanced assets will have a vertical colored stripe to indicate which objects are instances of each other. You can right click instanced objects and use the Break instance option to separate instances and allow you to individually change settings.

For your second question, it isn't possible to use the Quixel Megascans plants in the vegetation paint or scatter tools, although this is something that's being looked into for a future version.
