Can you please indicate the actual file size of each fab asset?

As we all know, whether it is the sample project of Unreal Engine, quixel assets, or some other assets containing high-resolution textures, they will take up a lot of space when downloaded locally. If you can know how much disk space the asset takes up when browsing the asset, developers can reserve space for it in advance. It is recommended to add the occupied disk size to the “Technical Details” section。

Agree. I often need to start to download an asset only for the sake to see how much GB I need to download. But the asset’s size on the disk still varies a lot after download.

When you download a UE version, it shows you the exact size of how much GB you have to download and how much GB it will take on the disk after install.

We need the same for assets. This info has to be on the asset’s FAB page and inside our asset Library.

Good idea… size does matter. It may also help assets the size of the compiled game/product, footprint to their users.

Easy enough to do from the aspect of say a pack of FBX meshes and PNG Textures, maybe not so for anyone wanting to assess their Blueprints, Materials Menu Systems etc… Would you need to include all the ‘metadata’ created by the Editor, that has an impact?

It would be easy for the assets I create, just list the Folders with the size footprint reported by the OS, for each one.

Maybe use a Poll, to see who really wants this and whether to include the metadata created by the editor, that affects the download asset pack size, but not the game footprint. What format would be prefered, like Overall disk Footprint (with a margin as the files are compressed by the Editor, adding Editor Information (Project and World Settings) for each Editor Version. Maybe actual Disk Footprint Folder by Folder sizes?
