Can you merge reconstruction regions (not just alignment components)?

Hi all,

I’m scanning the interior of my house and would like to keep high detail on my computer desk geometry, but care less about that level of detail on my walls, carpet, ceiling, etc.

Is there a way to run High reconstruction on important areas, and combine that with Normal reconstruction of the rest of the house?

What would be the best way to do this? I know you can merge multiple alignment components from different projects (https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001569011-Working-with-Components-Merging-components), but can you do the same with reconstructed regions?

hello,

using components is currently the way to go here

Hi azadbal,

afaik there is no way to combine meshes within RC, you will need to use different software to do that. In theory you can calculate two meshes with a different LOD, then delete the parts that you don’t need using the filter function. But then you’d still need to combine them externally.

@ lubenko: Is there a way to combine meshes by using components?

@Gotz: I meant this:
