So at the moment the unreal engine 4 folder is over 30gb, and I really only want to have the latest update installed. I’m not doing anything of value, and I store the engine on an SSD, which 30gb is quite a big percentage. Can I safely delete the 22gb of backups of earlier versions?
Hi fanzypantz,
I wouldn’t delete the folder, but if you don’t need the backups you can delete the contents. Also if you want to save room on your SSD you have a couple of options.
If you don’t have any projects that use the previous versions of the engine you can uninstall them. You can also move what project you are working on to another drive if you have one. Some users take that a step further and move their My Documents folder within Windows to another drive, so all projects are automatically created on the other drive.
Thanks, TJ
Yeah I’ve already moved all the project files to another drive, but all the backups whenever a new update comes is going to be annoying because I like to have my main programs on the SSD.
