I have an environment modelled and I can manoeuvre the camera about the model. However, can I constrain the cameras movement to be along a defined path? ie. this could potentially be the centreline of a road? I could then adjust a slider, and the camera would go back and forth along this path. I would also like to maybe have another slider which was speed!
Additionally, can you give this linear asset a meterage? and wherever I am (when I say “I” I mean the camera) along the path I can see a readout of the distance I am, along said path? For example, if the path was the centreline of a road, which went along the contours of the model terrain, and it was 1000m long, and the camera was half way along the road, there would be a little box in the corner of the screen which said “500m”?
Could you then potentially, position assets relative to this path (or road centreline)? For instance, I have a pre-modelled asset, which could be a traffic light for example, could I type in 3 values (distance along path [x], offset from path perpendicular to path [y], and height from path [z]) and the engine would place the asset (traffic light) at this defined point?
I know it is a lot of questions, I am really just wandering if the above is REALLY difficult, or actually quite simple stuff??
Much appreciated :D,
Kind Regards,
