Hi! I’m considering rebuilding an old UDK project in UE4 to continue it. It made use of a few assets included in UDK (not skeletal meshes); can I, with a UE4 subscription, export those UDK textures and models and bring them into the UE4 project, which is planned to be commercial? Or do I need a UE3/UDK license of some sort too? Or is it simply not allowed?
Thanks for the response.
OK, I see I can’t use them. Fortunately they weren’t many assets.
Yes, do you know if Infiltrator content is coming any soon?
I hope to see it soon, would be awesome.
Take a look at this thread: https://answers.unrealengine/questions/42090/am-i-allowed-to-use-udk-assets-in-an-unreal-engine.html
- the new ones are much better
Unfortunately there are no information around when or if they will publish it: https://forums.unrealengine/showthread.php?42537-A-STRONG-case-for-a-Infiltrator-Demo-Release-from-Epic-by-Christmas!
Hey ,
Looks like has this one covered. I will repost the answer here though:
"Unfortunately use of UDK assets in UE4 is not permitted. Basically some of the assets in UDK were the result of specifically negotiated rights which don’t extend to UE4 use. "
As far as Infiltrator goes, I am looking into it right now. Keep an eye out for updates on the blog. Let me know if you need help with anything else.
Ok,thanks.
