I am trying to use a Animation with what I believe to be root motion. A climb/jump over object animation. Is all I have to do to enable with the Third Person Template is:
go into the animation, ensure the “enable root motion” box is checked
in the thirdperson blueprint set a key that then plays an animation with root motion
Go into the animation blueprint and make sure I select “Root motion from everything”
Well assuming that the animation data you are using is root motion and not in place that should do it. After that though any and all tutorials relating to the use of in place no longer applies or will in most cases work when replace with root motion based animations. Even a simple climb or jump will work as expected.
Okay, I was trying to create a quick root motion animation using the root bone of the mannequin from within the UE editor. Got it moving, but I guess it actually doesn’t apply root motion to be able to use in game.
Sorry this comes late , but for everyone who try make own Root Motion Movement : Animate your Root Bone in your Anim Sequence with checked Enable Root Motion and than Record your Animation again to a new Animation in your Content and its working for me when i use it in my Animation Blueprint i didnt try to use in Montage .
