Can I prevent a material receiving bounce?

Sorry not sure if my question is correct. In essence I have a room with a red vinyl floor. The ceiling is relatively low and in path trace the ceiling is red as well from the reflection off the floor. I understand why TM is doing this but its not true to the scene, I have the original photos of the space and there is not a hint of red in the ceiling.

Can I stop the ceiling receiving the red some how, I have clicked every button in each material and nothing is helping but I really need to get it resolved.
