For aligning some difficult image sets, I need to add manual tie points. In the UI I see how to create and manage those, but cannot find any tool for placing them on the images. Is that possible?
Hello @TKSharpless
Yes, this is possible. You can follow this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S00_mLfbx6o
The UI is obsolete, but the principles are still recent.
Thanks, @OndrejTrhan
I am having no luck aligning multiple shots taken all around a bunch of flowers with a dslr. Would using a cellphone with the RS app offer any advantage?
Not really. The only advance can be kept position.
How do looks such flowers? Are they in a bouquet? How many shots have you taken?
Have you tried to use also markers in your dataset?
By ‘markers in my dataset’ do you mean something added the photos, or manually placed tie points? I have used neither, but would try if I thought it would help.
To be honest, this is not an ideal object for photogrammetry. As it is outside, it can be movable (because of the wind). Also, 30 images for such object is not enough. I would go with at least 100.
You can check this vegetation scanning course to get more information how to scan such objects.
By markers I meant like coded photogrammetry targets which will be placed around your scanning object.
