Can I make my texture unique for every part of my model surface

I have created a model from photos using RealityCapture. It is a sculpture of a dog. The model shape is fine (very minor sculpting required). But due to the environment, there are reflections on the top/back of the dog. I was very pleased with myself when I used Blender’s Texture Paint clone to make this part of the model look good. But when I inspected the whole model I discovered other parts of the model had changed texture. It appears some parts of the texture file are used multiple times on the model. I can see the advantage (more efficient use of texture file resulting in better resolution) - but it messes up my ability to tweak the texture thereafter. Is there a way around this?

Hi KeithGWood,
if the texture was corrected in Blender, it seems more like a Blender’s issue. Or am I missing something?
Are you checking the texture back in RealityCapture?
What are your steps there. It doesn’t seem right that some parts of the texture are used multiple times on the model…

I export from RealityCapture as FBX with embedded texture. Import to Blender; TexturePaint in Blender.

Hi, I tried this but I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. Is it possible to show there your results and used settings. Are you checking the textures in Blender or some other application?

OK, I guess I assumed the issue was parts of the texture were being re-used, because of the symptoms. Sorry about that. Which means the next question must be: what can I use to “touch up” the texture (as it appears Blender’s TexturePaint clone feature “bleeds” into adjacent areas)?

Is it also happening for not embedded texture?

Big apology. Now I’ve had some spare time I’ve just tried to repeat the issue (with the intention of getting some screen shots for here). Going back to the original exported model from RealityCapture, and into Blender. And I can’t reproduce the problem - it seems (so far) to be doing what I want (only painting the bits of texture I want it to paint) so all is OK.
I am now wondering what it was I managed to do so wrong last time - because (so far as I recall) I’m doing exactly the same steps. (I realise I must have done something different last time - I just can’t fathom what it was).
If I work it out I’ll add notes here (in case anyone else encounters the same issue).
Sorry to have taken up your time.
