I want to install the Unreal Engine software, and I want you to tell me if my computer system requirements are OK?
I have: ideaPad L340 gaming laptop
CPU: Intel Core i5-9300H - 62.9% U3E1, 1 CPU, 4 cores, 8 threads
Base clock 2.4 GHz, turbo 3.45 GHz (avg)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 - 28.9%
SSD: RPFTJ256PDD2MWX 256GB - 93.1%
HDD: WD WD10SPZX-00HKTT0 1TB - 78.5%
RAM: Samsung M471A1K43DB1-CTD 1x8GB - 33.2%
It should be able to run, hardware specs are on the lower side but it will run. If you try to do something that’s a bigger project you’re going to run into limits with your RAM, 8GB isn’t a lot for game development.
8GB is barely enough for playing games, especially why the internet browser is still open. This is the component you might wanna upgrade, if possible.
CPU and SSD should be OK for starters. Just keep the engine and project on SSD.
