Can i get touch down/up event from virtual joystick?

I want to use virtual joystick as a button when i touched it shortly.
I know virtual joystick is not designed for these use.
I just wonder it is possible.
and I want to get your good advice~

How to get touch event over joystick? or somehow send event to joystick after touck umg element
