If you have an email address from school (an *.edu email address) the way to get UE4 for free as a student is to submit your info to the GitHub Student Developer Pack offer which will get you a year long subscription to UE4, as well as access to other development programs.
There was recently a long wait time for access, and may still take some time. If you have a valid .edu email address though it does go much faster. Let me (or any of the other moderators, or staff members on the forums) know if you have any trouble getting access through that method though, we can help you out.
