I’ve been working though some tutorials about that and had inspiring success. Now, I was wondering if there was a way to do wings with art. In particular bat/dragon wings. I can visulaize how to do bird wings, that only requires a few joints but dragon wings require a full arm with hand bones. How would I do that? Is there a way to add more than one pair of arms? If so how?
It goes quite against my experience that you say that bird wings require “only a few joints” and dragon/bat wigns full arm with hand bones. Birds have a very similar underlying anatomy as bats. In fact, youd even need more bones for a good looking bird wing rig than for a bat. You have to control all those feathers after all. Anyway, about a year ago I developed a wing rig for bird wings, but you can also transfer that to a bat/dragon rig with some different skinning and less inbetween bones. Check it out, maybe you find it useful:
i simply meant anatomically correct. I was going to use morphs when I make bird wings to allow them to flex and move. However, I went back to Blender because the tutorial I was following suddenly did the unexpected and lost me when it came to skinning my character. I’ll just animate everything. It shouldnt be too hard with a good rig
