Can I change the mesh and location a matinee occurs in?

I’m trying to use matinee to make cinematic cut-ins, where combat pauses to display a cinematic of some kind of flashy finisher. (an example is visible at around 35 seconds in Yakuza 4 Battle - Gameplay - - YouTube )

The kicker, of course, is that I know what animation skeletons all the participants will have, but not which character it will be. I’m basically wonder if there’s a way to treat a matinee like a function, where I pass it the desired character models and coordinates to start the cutscene in?
