Can basic Mannequin skeleton be adapted for custom model?

I have a simple model from Blender with its default skeleton but I found this guide https://youtu.be/t7EQ5AtXHWY?t=880 (time is 14.40) where we can create a static mesh from the model and then set a new skeleton for it. I tried to do it and adapt the Mannequin skeleton for my model and it’s ( as expected ) a little messed up but the more I try to adapt it with the skeleton and skin, the worse i become. I assume that it’s not possible to do it properly in unreal engine it’self but i wonder if maybe there tutorials or suggestions?
