Having done an ungodly amount of research, I have found that the dell g3 is the best suited gaming laptop that stays within budget… however I’m unsure as to whether it can be used for UE4.
This definitely meets the specs. I use a i7 8565u 16gb ram ultrabook with integrated graphics and it works fine. I see this model comes with 1 stick of 8gb ram, so I suppose you may be able to upgrade it later - I’d recommend 16gb ram to start if you can afford it.
Deploying from any laptop is bound to take a while and you’ll definitely thermal throttle when compiling shaders, but that’s to be expected on a mobile workstation. I can’t recommend enough a powerful desktop instead, like ryzen 8 core, but if you must have a laptop this one seems good to the task. After using a laptop for UE4 I got the desktop because even very high end laptops leave much to be desired, especially in terms of upgrades and longevity.
