I have some large maps and some small ones, I find myself changing the camera speed all the time. It would be great if these settings were store in each map.
Also would be great to have shift key as a speed up 4x or something when using the wasd keys and mouse to navigate

I was reading over your post and I thought I might provide a suggestion. You can use the scroll wheel to slow down or speed up while moving in the editor. While holding the right mouse button you can scroll forward to speed up or scroll back to slow down. I hope that this helps.
