Camera Bug/Jitterring with a Spring Arm against Landscape or mesh

Hey! I’m struggling with a camera collision issue in UE5. I’m using Spring Arm from Third Person Template. The camera shakes or jitters when it is enabled on the Spring Arm — but it only happens when colliding with Landscape or non-plane mesh. It works fine on flat meshes or simple floors. I’ve tried tweaking Lag Speed, Probe Size, Collision settings, but the problem remains. Any idea how to fix or smooth this when dealing with Landscapes or objects? Did you get this with the standard Spring Arm ?

In fact, I have the same bugs with standard Third Person Template … what should I do to smooth the camera ?

If anyone is having this issue I fixed it with :

  • my SocketOffset was 50, I put it back to 0
  • I put 100 as a Target Offset, which reduces a lot the collision with the ground. I rotate a little the camera to keep the framing.
  • I followed this video to smooth the last little bugs :
