Can you copy paste the logcat to pastebin.com and post it here?
Hi. When launching a project on Acer Iconia Tab 8 i get a called unimplemented OpenGL ES API spam in logcat, then app crashes. Same app works properly on Nexus 7. I’m building x86 - es2 for Acer( UE 4.6.1). Has anyone encountered something similar on this or other devices, and if so, are there any workarounds?
Hey, sorry for the late response. Here’s a paste from logcat: Acer Crash UE4 - Pastebin.com
Howdy Zimo,
Thank you for reporting this issue. I have just attempted a quick reproduction and have been unsuccessful in seeing any errors. Would you be able to clarify if this is a source build or a binary build of UE4? Would you be able to recreate this issue with a new template project?
Any additional information on how I may be able to reproduce this issue internally would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and have a great day!
Thanks for the response. For now i can say i built android binaries from VS then packaged it. I tried another project and had the same result. I’ll try it with template project tomorrow.
Packaging a template project still gave the same result. Are there any special settings in the config or manifest required for it to build on this device?
How would you have your solution configuration and your solution platform set in VS2013?
Development/Android. If i build for armv7/es2 and package it for nexus it works. When i change to x86 in defaultengine.ini i get those errors on Acer.
Have you tested this issue on a newer version of UE4 (i.e. 4.7.2)? I have been testing on this build and have not been able to replicate this issue. You will need to use a GitHub build of UE4 to enable the x86 checkbox.
Please let me know if you run into the same errors if you do test in a newer version.
Thanks!
I created a template third person project, packaged it with x86 and es 2 checked - still the same result. 4.7.2 from github. Are there any other options required?
Hey Zimo,
I have just tested this issue once again and have not been able to replicate this internally. Would you be able to provide your build logs so I may be able to investigate those for any errors?
Thanks!
Howdy Zimo,
Just wanted to check in with you and see if this issue is still occurring for you? If it is, Could you please attach the build logs to this post so that I may be able to further investigate?
Thanks!
Hey Sean,
Here’s the log from template fps project on 4.7.3: Acer log - Pastebin.com.
Hey Zimo,
It seems that the logs have been removed from that link. Would you be able to provide a link with the logs attached?
Thanks!
Weird. Here it is again: http://pastebin.com/x5R2GE3L
Hey Zimo,
Sorry about the delay in response. I have just tested out this issue once again and have been able to see the ‘called unimplemented OpenGL ES API’ spam in the logcat. I have not been able to make the project crash though.
What template project are you able to recreate this in and would you be including starter content?
Thanks!
Hey Zimo,
Just wanted to check in with you and see if you had the opportunity to test this issue on the newest release version (4.7.5) though it was a very minimal number of fixes in that hotfix, it is possible that an error may have been cleared up.
Also, would you be able to share which project template you have used to recreate the error?
Thanks and have a great day!
Hi Zimo,
