Hi everyone,
just wanted to to share my first real UE project (I started using UE just a couple of weeks before beginning my thesis project) which happens also to be my architectural thesis project that I successfully defended yesterday at the Danish Royal Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture’s department for Art & Architecture. The aim of my project was to create “An architectural thesis project that uses film to communicate a series of architectural interventions that explore the intersection of culture/nature as a productive friction. The film itself is also an experiment/exploration of the of computer game engines for the creation of animated film & their potential as an architectural tool.”
Unreal engine has been an incredible tool for just that, not only for visualization, but also as a creative tool that opens for developing architectural discourse on a far more speculative level than has been reasonably possible before (a potential that also branches well into the arts).
If anyone is curious about the project itself, I have a longer description up on my website. Also, I can mention that the entire project has used DFGI & that the video was rendered out in 4K and then downscaled to HD.
