(C4D to UE 5.4) imported Animation "breaks" after restarting UE

Hello,

I made an animated “(roller) shutter” in cinema4D and imported it via the datasmith/cineware

when I open the animation sequence everything is running as I animated it in C4D. But when I restart the engine the animation is broken.

Like it should just come down, open slightly so light comes through the little gaps, and then “roll” up again. But instead it goes down start weirdly “flickering” and then the seperate parts of the shutter start to disappear from the top to the bottom.

I hope someone can help me or has/had the same issue.

I feel like there isn’t much to find about datasmith and cineware on google,doesn’t seem like there are many people using this kind of workflow and sadly I start to understand why.

Hi, did you find a solution to this? I’ve basically lost a whole day’s work after restarting UE, then reimporting the scene via direct link and all my animations are broken. The animated moves in a totally different way (the keyframes were baked in c4d to avoid this exact problem) and other objects which simply rotate are broken too - some just sit still. Some oof the tracks just haven’t come back into the sequencer. Are we, as users STILL beta-testing this thing when we should be able to rely on it to do commercial work???
