I am thinking about buying some models from somewhere else, The modeling department is now here near my area. How do I tell the quality? Like I al looking for buildings with the same quality is the modular building set but how do I tell the quality of the products on the other sites. It shows polygon but does that determine quality?
There are many different factors. You would need to have some level of skill with 3D art yourself to know. Otherwise, the best you can do is go by how good it looks and the reviews other people have given on it.
I personally would send them some references + a tri/poly count that they shouldnt exceed + what kind of texture resolution you need. After that just review their mesh and decide if it’s good enough -> many freelance 3d artists will do nearly as many changes as you like (as long as they already received some money)
