Building on top of Lyra vs Gas Companion?

Does anyone have experience using Lyra as the foundation for their projects instead of just a resource? Considering its complexity, is it better for indie devs to learn and build on top of it as a base, or to start from scratch and integrate specific features? The latter seems overwhelming with all the inter-dependencies and tough to adapt without copying exactly how they’re handling things (e.g., their gameplay experience setup).

I’ve been leaning towards just using Gas Companion, sticking mostly to blueprints, and incorporating parts of Lyra like the Gameplay Message Router and the locomotion system. Currently using DCS (not replicated) and prioritizing speed since we’re in pre-production. Planning to migrate to Gas Companion this month, but I’m still open to using Lyra as a base if it’s worth the investment for what I hope will one day become a cross-platform, multiplayer game.
