I’ve moved to Unreal Engine 5.6.1 to build a 100+ Player Open World Battle Royale style game for mobile (other platforms to follow).
I’ve covered the UE 5.6.1 basics over the past few weeks and I’m looking to start building based on the LyraStarterGame for 5.6. I’m going through the Lyra systems at the moment.
I’d like to work with UE 5 experienced developers who have completed similar works to help guide me through the process in UE 5.6.1.

Hi. I spend all my time learning Unreal, in pursuit of my own game development projects. I have an education in computer science – python, data and project management.

Coding is fine. Just do what you enjoy. I don’t want to assign you to do something you’re not interested in.
I’ve already started, I have a project repo; it’s a copy of the UE 5.6.1 LyraStarterGame project.
I’m very new to UE and Lyra so I have a large learning curve ahead.
The goal is to have all of the features of a battle Royale online multiplayer game in an open world level. I’ve been learning Lyra so to utilize the features they’ve already created for things like Game Mode Phase transitions.
The game mode will start in a basic open world, with up to 64 players joining any open world instance. They can join the Battle Royale service when they want, they’ll be connected to a Battle Royale ~100 player service instance after having been given the opportunity to create a squad and pressing the Start button from the Squad Matchmaking screen.
There will be a 120 second Countdown phase where all of the players will be able to run around in their avatar, select their special skills, etc. before the battle Royale deployment phase begins.
The match will allow for redeployment of squad members after they’re unalived given some fulfilled requirement (like dog tag scans, free-redeployment, etc.). Safe zones shrinking phases will happen at regular intervals. Game is won when only 1 squad remains.
I’d bet there’s some fab already created for most of this, if not already possible in Lyra.
