I am currently trying to create my own take on a Disc Golf game and gave a few things set up at the moment. However, I am brand new to UE5 and trying to figure it all out in my own.
With that said, I’m seeking assistance now because I have hit a wall and can’t find anything that will help me move forward. I will attach a very general idea of what I’m looking to achieve.
I know there will be nothing “simple” about getting this done but, anything will help at this point. Thank you in advance.
I am attempting the very same thing. Ultimately I want a VR game that uses the Valve Index controller as input to launch the disc.
I’m also new to UE5, so this may take awhile. But I’ll be glad to trade components as we make progress.
The first component I’m working is the disc itself, with associated parameters such as velocity vector, RPM, hyzer angle, elevation angle, drag, and lift. My idea is that once those parameters have been harvested from the controller (at the time the trigger is released), then a Blueprint would govern the disc trajectory and orientation until the first collision event (like when it hits the ground).
You guys aren’t going to believe this, but I’m also starting to work on a disc golf game in UE5.
I agree that the mechanics are going to be the trickiest part, but have you guys considered a twin stick style run up mechanic. Where the left stick controls the feet and the right stick controls the arms?
Anyways, that’s what I’m thinking of doing. LMK if you guys want to collab on some ideas.
