I’ve built a building in my open world and want to build another building beside it at a 30 degree angle from the building i’ve just built. Whats the best way to go about doing this? So i dont have any problems with things lining up on the new building as i build it ?
Hi MikeNapier,
A good way of making buildings is to convert them to Blueprints, then duplicate those and move them around - theres the “Convert Selection to Blueprint” option:
or if you want to take it a step further you could use something like rdBPtools on the marketplace.
For working with buildings at odd angles, you canalso just attach pieces together and move/rotate them later in local space no matter what rotation the parent has. For example, if you make a square building like normal with 4 walls and attach them to a floor mesh, the walls will retain 90° rotations and grid positions relative to the floor.
If you need to add pieces later, you can drag them anywhere onto the map, attach them to parent, and if you reset the new bit’s rotation/location, it will be at 0 relative to the floor or whatever. Then you can move/rotate it around in local space and it will snap to grid as if was all at right angles.
