Building a Computer for Game Development

Hello y’all!

I am a college student planning to build my own computer.

Can anybody help me with my part list below for game development?

I am hoping this will be good enough to run Unreal Engine, Zbrush, Substance Painter & Designer, Photoshop, Maya, and 3ds Max.

Also, I learned AMD Ryzen has came out recently, and one of my buddies told me I should wait to see if it’s worth it.

Has anyone tried AMD Ryzen on Unreal Engine yet?

Any reviews will be appreciated!

Hello. Its good setup but i recommend u wait until Ryzen release (28 Feb). Intel will drop MSRP price for 10% for sure.

I have i7 6950X but i want get 8 core 16 thread Ryzen - so i will report about performance.
I need good and cheap second pc and 400$ for 8 cores 16 thread vs 1000$ of Intel 8 cores 16 thread looks legit.

AMD will have 8 cores 16 thread for price of 6700k (350)$.

AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 8/16 16MB 95W 3.4GHz-3.8GHz $389
AMD Ryzen 7 1700 8/16 16MB 65W 3.0GHz-3.7GHz $319

Prices for Ryzen AMD Calls Check; Your Move, Intel

Hey SergeOvD! Thank you for your reply!

I just checked and it said Ryzen will be available in March 2nd.

I’ll be graduated from college this semester and I hope I can check the AMD Ryzen soon.

I would go with an additional 16 GB, so you have 32 GB in total.

On 28 feb youtube will be full or Ryzen reviews (with benchmarks and graphs) from pros - its what most “cpu enthusiasts” looking for.

if you use amd ryzen 7 1700x or other , please don’t forget to update the details about it’s performance, I want to know about it’s performance with unreal , and rendering times,
