All projects using UE4.18 + Windows Mixed Reality headsets have warped image. Everything you see looks very deformed, mainly if you rotate your head on the side.
It is replicable just by opening basic VR template in UE.
Hi UE team, the issue is easy to reproduce so I am sure it can be addressed.
The support for WMR HMD’s is crucial for the holiday season, please look at it.
Yupp can confirm same issue, reproducible from the transition to 18 which i updated to to fix the HZB Setup Mip spike problem that is in 17. It fixed the spike problem but now the screen is terribly warped… Really wish there was a functioning version of UE for VR on WMR, my clients would also…
Well I have tried out 4.19 both in my project and an empty project and the scene freezes after 20-30 which is also reproducible because it happens even in a blank scene while using a WMR headset and I have a ballot open for that as well.
I’m tired of UE Devs solutions coming along in next updates because each update introduces new and other bugs resulting in none of the versions being usable.
4.17 = HZB Mips 5-50ms lag spikes so >11ms per frame missing the 90FPS mark so it is unusable for VR because you NEED to beat 11ms (Reproducible)
4.18 = Warped image Unusable with no solution other than an archived Github build you have to be invited into and still isnt a full solution (Reproducible)
4.19 = Freeze and shut with no Log (Reproducible) no documentation because its so new
Do you see the trend here? With these bugs none of those builds are suitable for release and every Dev solution isn’t a solution and is a wait for the next build. This is a joke and this is why Unity will be getting all of our businesses money and not Epic…
