I’ve set up UGS for a large team, and each artist needs to configure UGS before launching. However, they often run into problems when choosing a workspace: using “Browse” shows only the workspaces created by that particular user. In an open lab, people are switching computers constantly and using workspaces created by other people, which means the “Browse” button will almost never show the project workspace that’s on the local machine. They need to do a convoluted workaround by opening Perforce to find and manually enter the workspace name. This is especially problematic for many of our artists who are unfamiliar with Perforce’s interface.
If there’s a way to change this setting and display any workspace on the local machine through the UGS “browse” menu, I would appreciate a tip. If not, I’d like to see this added as a feature.
