The UE4 editor is constantly crashing after the aniversary update of windows while using VR ().
Sometimes when I press the “Play in VR” button the game does not startup in the headset, only on desktop and it is running at 1FPS.
In addition, when using the editor while pressing CTRL+Z for undo, the whole PC reboots without any warning.
I can’t reproduce it , seems like some memory leak somewhere
the crash is related to whole OS , it just reboots the computer, no callstack available
my BP is pretty messy , however I dont use any constructor scripts, and even sometimes loading the project and using just simple mesh movement can cause the whole computer to reboot.
I had verified the engine and re-installed VGA (nvidia) drives, just in case.
after the step 5) , the reboots are gone, however if the Steam VR does not start with the editor I am left with the 1FPS stuttering game without output to the headset.
Could you create a new thread for the FPS issue for tracking purposes? I will be marking my replay as the answer for this post. You can provide a link in a reply here and I will follow up on the additional issue.
Sadly I have to report that ther reboots are still there but are less frequent.
They are unexpected and happen on all kinds of actions like : moving, resizing of mesh, editing blue print, pressing ctrl+z for undo.
[edit]
Also I had played with things that I have non standard:
using 3 monitors with 1x mirror 1x extend - no luck there
using BETA steam VR - no luck there
using several audio outputs (6 if is connected) - no luck there
disabled page file (having 16GB ram) - there was some change
after enabling the page file there are no reboots but the computer will get stuck. Only hard power reset helps.
So under my opinion it is probably some kind of memory leak.
