Hello, we found that if player is walking up stairs while leaning towards a low wall/railing (approximately lower than the half capsule height but higher than max step height), their movement speed will suddenly drop. Happens at least since UE 5.4 and still happens in 5.6. Disabling “Can Character Step Up On” property for the wall doesn’t help.
The first time we noticed this in our game was when there was a small bump at the end of a slope and when player tried to slide around the corner, but they got slowed down. If there’s no bump (i.e. a slope) or the wall is high, player will maintain their velocity.
Can I ask if this is a bug or there’s some way to make player not slowed down in this scenario?
