This exists on wayland, and as x11 compositor it doesn’t .

It seems that the issue is that you can not use absolute positioning on Wayland.

i’ve heard that kde 6 has only just yet implemented protocols for window positioning. so it’s sounds like something not adopted everywhere.

yeah i read gnome fixed it 5 years ago. but alas. i think they fixed it for a seperate issue that fixed for xorg.. but wayland is… as far as i can tell. is being wayland. lol
i guess i listen to them fan boys too much when they say its comin to replace x11. (but yeah professionals laugh and tell me, not any time soon)

i’m not interested in wayland if you want my opinion. it’s pushing a lot of trouble onto devs. and that takes time to undo. also makes super hard to do things that were easy before.

i use kde so i don’t know what did gnome fixed.

fedora was going to drop support for X then had to not do it because of the amount of soft that still can’t run properly.

i hope epic improves wayland support at some point. but i think the next kde ubuntu lts is still going to be x11 based.
