Bug in AutoLOD system?

Hello, so I’ve got this piece of foliage I made in speedtree, it’s got about 22,000 tris (that’s a lot I know, I’m still just experimenting with it all) and I’m trying to use the autoLOD system in UE4. But every time I use it, no matter how many levels of detail it has, no matter which percent of triangles I set it to, it always crashes. I’ve gotten it to work pretty good with some other objects in my world but for whatever reason it doesn’t like this tree. Does anybody have any insight on this?

P.S. It’s for sure not my hardware, I’ve got a super beefy desktop.
